Tantowi Yahya, the President of the United In Diversity (UID) Learning Hub, has stated that an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Development Center will soon be established at the Kura-Kura Bali Special Economic Zone (SEZ) located in the Kura Krua Complex on Serangan Island, Denpasar, Bali.
The United In Diversity (UID) Bali Campus is an established learning hub located in the heart of Kura Kura Bali, designed to be a “Center of Future Knowledge” by fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable solutions for global challenges. UID was officially inaugurated in 2022 by then Indonesian President Joko Widodo during the G20 Summit in Bali. Today, the UID Bali Campus represents a striking testament to Indonesia’s commitment to sustainable development and future-oriented learning.
Quoted by BeritaBali and also reported by the State News Agency ANTARA, speaking at an artificial intelligence seminar titled “AI Applications in Industry and Government in Bali,” Tantowi said: “The Artificial Intelligence Development Center should be opened as soon as possible. If we’re late or slow in doing this, artificial intelligence technology will have left us far behind. Although we’re just getting started, we need to always keep moving forward, working with what we currently have in hand.”
Tantowi said establishing a learning center for artificial intelligence technology at the UID Campus was a “good fit” for the Kura-kura Bali Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Since its inauguration, the government has designated this area on Serangan Island for three functions: residential, educational, and lifestyle.

Under Tantowi’s leadership, the UID Campus serves as a learning center through collaborations with domestic and international educational institutions. The joint educational endeavors include centers for the study of new sciences, such as genomics and AI, through the continuing establishment of beneficial collaborations with competent foreign universities.
”We have collaborated with Tsinghua University, which excels in digital and AI-based new sciences. This is in keeping with our current dream to develop and build a world-class AI center,” said the former Indonesian Ambassador to New Zealand.
