Indonesia Targets 19.1 Million Foreign Tourists Arrivals in 2027

The Republic of Indonesia is targeting 19.1 foreign tourist arrivals for 2027, according to Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana.

​Speaking on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, Minister Wardhana, quoted by the Xinhua Chinese News Agency, said: “We are committed to optimizing all available resources so that tourism can make a greater contribution to the economy, job creation, foreign exchange earnings, and public welfare.”

​Meanwhile, the Indonesian government has announced plans to raise foreign exchange earnings from international tourism by 16 percent to US$ 28.6 billion, with average spending per visitor projected at US$ 1,497.

​In 2027, the tourism sector is expected to contribute 4.8 percent to the national gross domestic product and attract US$3.8 billion in investment, said Minister Wardhana.
