
The Republic of Indonesia is targeting 19.1 foreign tourist arrivals for 2027, according to Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana.
Speaking on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, Minister Wardhana, quoted by the Xinhua Chinese News Agency, said: “We are committed to optimizing all available resources so that tourism can make a greater contribution to the economy, job creation, foreign exchange earnings, and public welfare.”

Meanwhile, the Indonesian government has announced plans to raise foreign exchange earnings from international tourism by 16 percent to US$ 28.6 billion, with average spending per visitor projected at US$ 1,497.
In 2027, the tourism sector is expected to contribute 4.8 percent to the national gross domestic product and attract US$3.8 billion in investment, said Minister Wardhana.
