During Power Outages, PLN Bali Promises Not to Leave Customers Waiting Uninformed

NusaBali admits that PLN power outages are not only a problem when the power goes out, but also when customers don’t know when their power will be restored. This ongoing complaint is drawing attention from the PLN Bali Distribution Regulatory Implementation Unit (UP2D), which is strengthening its disruption service system through the PLN Command Center.

PLN UP2D Bali Manager Petrus Irwan Ichwansaputra on Tuesday, 08 September 2026, said disruption management is not just about speeding up restoration; it also requires keeping consumers informed during the repair process.

”The people of Bali don’t just need electricity back on quickly. They also need certainty, especially during odalan (anniversary celebrations), ceremonies, or for small and medium-sized companies that heavily depend on electricity. Therefore, we encourage our officers to be responsive, provide accurate information, and provide service to the end,” said Petrus.

Under the strengthened service system, Command Center Officers will confirm with customers when they first receive an outage report. For widespread outages with an estimated restoration time of more than one hour, customers will also receive regular updates.

After the work is completed, officers will then confirm with customers that the electricity has returned to normal. This service strengthening program is being implemented through the Yantek Campus Volume 2 Program and is being extended under the theme “Command Center from the Heart.”

This program focuses not only on technical skills but also on improving customer communication, occupational safety, and using technology to record outages.

Petrus explained that each outage can affect customers differently. Power outages can occur during traditional activities, business operations, or public services.

”Each outage report has a different context. It could be a village preparing offerings (banten), a food stall serving guests, a school conducting an online exam, or a health facility requiring electricity. Therefore, officers must understand that each report has an impact on people’s lives,” he explained.

To strengthen record-keeping, PLN is also maximizing the use of APKT Mobile – an application for reporting power outages. This more comprehensive and real-time data can then be used to evaluate outage patterns and restoration times.

PLN UP2D Bali also emphasized the importance of occupational safety in expediting outage management. PLN communicates changes to procedures and work methods to staff to ensure handling continues to comply with safety standards.

By strengthening and supporting Command Center and Technical Service (Yantek) Officers, PLN said it is striving to improve services. As a result, customers receive not only restored power supply but also clear information during the outage.
