Bali Closes Unlicensed Beauty Clinic for Illegally Employing Foreign Doctors

Beritabali reports that a beauty clinic on Jalan Subak Sari in Canggu, Bali, has been closed for offering unlicensed medical aesthetics services and illegally employing foreign medical personnel.

The PRIME Skin Clinic, previously operating as Elasto Beauty, was determined by officials to have committed several violations  of health, business licensing, and employment regulations. Ordering the closure were the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) and the Bali Provincial government.

A spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Aji Muhawarman, announced that closure measures were made necessary to protect the public from medical practices that could potentially endanger their health.

The closure was a coordinated move by several agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Immigration and Prisons, the Ministry of Manpower, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the Bali Provincial and Badung Regency Health Agency.

The beauty and health salon was not registered with the Indonesian Ministry of Health.

In addition to not holding the required operational permit, the clinic was found to employ medical personnel and healthcare workers from Russia and Armenia who lacked valid work and immigration documentation.

Aji said, “The facility has been closed. All cross-sectoral agencies have expressed their readiness to take firm action according to their respective authority, including health, immigration, and business licensing.”

The Ministry of Health emphasized that the practice of unlicensed healthcare services, the use of medical personnel without a Certificate of Registration (STR) and Certificate of Inspection (SIP), and the use of drugs and medical devices without a distribution permit are serious violations that cannot be tolerated.

Officials are urging the public to be selective in choosing healthcare services and to ensure that the facilities they visit are officially licensed and staffed by competent, certified medical personnel.

The Indonesian Ministry of Health said the clinic’s closure was intended to protect the public and maintain Bali’s image as a safe, high-quality, and trusted destination for international healthcare and wellness tourism.
