KOMPAS reports that Bali scored admirably on Tripadvisor’s list of the world’s top 25 cities for solo travel. Tripadvisor is arguably the world’s largest travel guidance and review platform.
In the annual Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards report, Bali ranked ninth globally in the “Best of the Best Destinations” category for solo travel. Within Asia, Bali ranked even higher, coming in as the second-best place for solo travelers after Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.
Seen globally, Dublin, Ireland, was selected as the best place in the world for solo travelers. Dublin has long been esteemed as a city that is easy and safe to explore alone, thanks to its compact city center, welcoming culture, and strong literary roots. Moreover, many of Dublin’s key attractions are within walking distance, making it convenient to visit them all in a single day.

Tripadvisor shows that, when it comes to welcoming and easy-to-navigate places in Asia, Hanoi, Vietnam, takes the top spot. Hanoi is the only Asian destination to outrank Bali.
Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital, offers adventure amid the charm of the Old Quarter, with alleys lined with street food stalls, small shops, and bustling markets. Culinary tourism is also a major draw; the city is renowned for its rich street food culture. Meanwhile, Bali ranks second as the best city in Asia for solo travel.
Tripadvisor describes Bali as the “Island of the Gods,” a living postcard. Bali offers warm sunshine on stretches of soft white- and black-sand beaches, with ample snorkeling and diving opportunities in the adjacent azure seas. Bali’s shores are home to ancient temples and mischievous troops of monkeys. In Central Bali, Ubud is known as a center of art and culture, with art studios and traditional dance performances offered in almost equal measure. Solo travelers can enroll in short courses learning batik, silver-crafting, and yoga.
