Kompas reports that TransNusa Airline has launched a direct flight service connecting Bali (DPS) and Phuket (HKT), Thailand, starting Wednesday, 09 September 2026.
Nugroho Jati, General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, said the new route strengthens air connectivity between Indonesia and Thailand. “The launch of this direct Bali-Phuket route is good news for bolstering tourism connectivity within the Southeast Asian region,” Nugroho said in a written statement on Thursday, 10 September 2026.
The new Bali–Phuket route operates four times weekly on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, and will expand to daily service beginning October 3, 2026.
The inaugural TransNusa flight, designated 8B541, departed from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali on Wednesday at 11:40 am. The aircraft carried 174 passengers and arrived at Phuket International Airport at 2:09 pm local time. Meanwhile, the return flight from Phuket to Bali (8B542) is scheduled to arrive at Ngurah Rai Airport at 9:35 pm local time.
TransNusa’s scheduled flight, 8B 541, will depart Bali at 11.30 am from I Gusti Ngurah International Airport and arrive at Phuket International Airport at 14.35, while the return flight, 8B 542, will depart the Phuket International Airport at 15.35 and arrive at I Gusti Ngurah International Airport in Bali at 20.35.
For the four-hour scheduled flight from Bali to Phuket, TransNusa will be utilizing its Airbus A320, which has 174 seats.
To celebrate the launch, TransNusa continues to offer introductory promotional fares starting from Rp 2,399,000 one-way, bookable via the official airline website.
TransNusa’s official website ticket prices for the Bali-Phuket route start at Rp 2.3 million for a one-way trip. “We see this route as having the potential to strengthen I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport’s position as an Indonesian tourism hub. The easier the access between destinations, the greater the opportunity for travelers to extend their trips and enjoy a wider range of experiences,” said Nugroho.

With the opening of this new route, TransNusa becomes the second airline to operate direct flights between Bali and Phuket. Previously, Indonesia AirAsia served the same route with two daily flights.
I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport is currently connected to 42 international routes across 16 countries, served by 44 airlines.
