As a result of that police report, Glasspole now finds himself in the Denpasar District Court on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, where Public Prosecutor Fisher Valen J. Simanjuntak has charged him with violating Article 521, paragraph (1) of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP).

Simanjuntak told the court that Kieran damaged a 55-inch Samsung LED Television at Sense Sport Bar shortly after arriving alone at the Bar at 10:20 pm. “The defendant ordered three bottles of beer and a glass of whiskey, then sat at the bar counter,” the prosecutor told the panel of judges, presided over by I Gusti Ayu Akhiryani, on Tuesday, 27 October 2026.

The court also heard that Dewa Gede Angga Tribawa was working as the bartender at the Sense Sport Bar when the New Zealander caused the damage.

After consuming two bottles of beer and a glass of whiskey, at around 11:00 PM, the defendant got into an argument with someone over the phone, speaking in English in a loud, aggressive tone, according to the bartender.

After the call, the defendant asked Tribawa to record the New Zealander on video using the defendant’s own mobile phone.then the defendant grabbed an object from the bar counter with his right hand and threw it toward the television,” the District Attorney told the Judges. As a result, the television—which had been on—shut down immediately. After the incident, the defendant ordered another bottle of Bintang Beer and remained seated in the restaurant area. He even invited the bartender, Tribawa, to join him in a game of billiards before eventually leaving the bar.

Tribawa contacted Apriyana Sari, the owner of Sense Sports Bar, to report the act of vandalism. Glasspole reportedly became angry and threw the object at the television when he could not meet the bar owner.

The defendant supposedly harbors a grievance against Apriyana Sari, who previously worked for a business owned by the Glasspole’s wife. The defendant alleges that Sari stole the design, menu, supplier lists, and other operational aspects from his wife’s establishment for use at Sense Sport Bar. “Sari is also said to have hired several employees from the business owned by the defendant’s wife,” Prosecutor Simanjuntak said.

According to the indictment, the defendant allegedly threw the object in an attempt to force the business owner to meet him. The incident caused a loss of Rp 5.8 million to PT Dewata Canggu Beach, the registered company that owns the Sense Sports Bar,

Glasspole remains at liberty and has not been taken into custody.

The New Zealander is charged under a section of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) that provides for a maximum of two years and six months’ imprisonment or a fine of up to Rp 20 million.
