The Sate News Agency ANTARA reports that PELINDO (PT Pelabuhan Indonesia – Benoa), is integrating a range of passenger services in preparation for the upcoming cruise ship season 2026/2027.
“We are ensuring operational readiness, safety standards, and quality service for both passengers and crew,” said Anak Agung Gede Agung Mataram, General Manager of Bali’s Port of Benoa.
According to Agung, the integrated management of cruise operations involves coordinating berth assignm, ents, port services—including passenger handling—and inter-agency cooperation.

The objective, he noted, is to ensure and enhance the comfort and safety of tourists.
Agung explained that international cruise ship visits contribute significantly to Bali’s tourism economy, impacting everything from tourist movement and transportation to a range of tourism-related activities.
Consequently, the port is optimizing its cruise services to strengthen maritime connectivity and boost the local economy.
The South Denpasar-based port is now capable of accommodating large cruise ships for port-of-call visits as well as handling passenger embarkation and disembarkation.
This service enhancement follows the expansion of the eastern cruise berth at the Port of Benoa, which was extended from 350 meters to 500 meters, allowing it to accommodate two large cruise ships simultaneously.
These port infrastructure upgrades align with the development of Bali as a primary maritime tourism gateway, now known as the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH).
Marking the start of the cruise tourism season in mid-2026, Benoa Port has already begun receiving cruise ships, starting with the “Heritage Adventurer,” which recently arrived carrying 90 passengers and 84 crew members. According to records from PELINDO, 65 cruise ships operated by global companies called at Benoa in 2025, bringing a total of 140,000 international tourists.
This figure represents a significant increase compared to 2024, which saw 56 cruise ship calls and a passenger throughput—comprising both arriving and departing travelers—of 107,717 international tourists.
Meanwhile, for 2026, 76 cruise ships have registered to call at Benoa, Bali, with preliminary figures for the first three months already showing the arrival of 35 ships from various countries.
