Avirianto Suratno, and <em>Boeing Indonesia Managing Director<\/em> Indra Duivenvoorde signed the <em>LOI<\/em> at the <em>Sheraton Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport Hotel<\/em> in Tangerang on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bAlso present at the signing were <em>AirNav Indonesia\u2019s<\/em> <em>Director of Operations,<\/em> Setio Anggoro; <em>Director of Engineering<\/em>, Zainal Arifin Harahap; <em>Director of Human Resources and General Affairs,<\/em> Didiet K.S. Radityo; and <em>Director of Finance and Risk Management.<\/em> Oskar Syahbana.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200b<em>AirNav Indonesia\u2019s President Director,<\/em> Capt. Avirianto Suratno, said the study aims to identify opportunities to reduce ground-level aircraft movement congestion while simultaneously increasing runway utilization capacity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bThe analysis involves mapping current operational conditions and testing them through modeling using the <em>Total Airspace and Airport Modeler (TAAM).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/airnav-indonesia-and-boeing-to-optimize-operations-at-balis-ngurah-rai-international-airport-8ad724e.jpg\" alt=\"AirNav Indonesia and Boeing to Optimize Operations at Bali&rsquo;s Ngurah Rai International Airport\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/airnav-indonesia-and-boeing-to-optimize-operations-at-balis-ngurah-rai-international-airport-d1a403a.jpg\" alt=\"AirNav Indonesia and Boeing to Optimize Operations at Bali&rsquo;s Ngurah Rai International Airport\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200b&#8221;We are examining not only current operational conditions but also various options that could enable more efficient aircraft movement. Each option will be tested through modeling and simulation to ensure that a solid analytical foundation backs the resulting recommendations,&#8221; said Avirianto.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bThis <em>LOI<\/em> follows a <em>Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)<\/em> signed by <em>AirNav Indonesia<\/em> and <em>Boeing<\/em> in 2023, which established a framework for cooperation in airspace management, training, and strategic air traffic management planning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bHe added that the initial stage of the study involves operational modeling using a <em>TAAM Baseline Model<\/em> to represent current operational conditions at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bThe model utilizes a 24-hour flight schedule that reflects the airport&#8217;s normal actual operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bThe modeling encompasses both <em>&#8220;east flow&#8221;<\/em> and <em>&#8220;west flow&#8221;<\/em>\u2014two operational configurations based on the direction of aircraft movement. The modeling results will consist of <em>operational statistical data<\/em> and f<em>our-dimensional (4D) visualizations.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200b<em>AirNav Indonesia<\/em> and <em>Boeing<\/em> will also conduct on-site observations at <em>I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport<\/em> alongside <em>Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)<\/em> specializing in air traffic control, airport operations, airlines, ground handling, and airport planning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bThese observations may cover areas such as the <em>ATC tower,<\/em> terminal radar facilities, ground handling operations centers, airline operations centers, airport planning and development units, and the airside area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bOnce <em>AirNav Indonesia<\/em> validates the baseline model using its operational data, both parties will develop alternatives to improve operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bThese alternatives will address layout, ground movement procedures, taxiway and aircraft parking area use, and movement sequencing and coordination.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/airnav-indonesia-and-boeing-to-optimize-operations-at-balis-ngurah-rai-international-airport-10afef9.jpg\" alt=\"AirNav Indonesia and Boeing to Optimize Operations at Bali&rsquo;s Ngurah Rai International Airport\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200b\u201cThese alternatives will subsequently be tested via TAAM simulation.
