\u200bBeritaBali<\/em> reports that plans to develop the Pengambengan National Fishing Port (PPN)<\/em> in South Bali\u2019s Jembrana Regency are nearing the implementation phase. The groundbreaking ceremony for this national strategic project is scheduled for 29 September 2026.<\/p>\n \u200bThe new port development is necessary because Bali\u2019s fishing port is being relocated from the Port of Benoa<\/em> to accommodate the renovation and upgrade of Benoa into the Benoa Marine Tourism Hub (BMTH)<\/em> to serve cruise ships and visiting yachts,<\/p>\n \u200bThe fishing port groundbreaking was announced during a socialization meeting with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda)<\/em> and local stakeholders in Jembrana on Thursday, 10 September 2026.<\/p>\n \u200bThe development of PPN Pengambengan<\/em> is part of the National Strategic Project (PSN)<\/em> under the “Integrated Fishing Ports and International Fish Markets Phase-1” (IFP-IFM) Program.<\/em> The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) supports the project through financing.<\/em><\/p>\n \u200bThe contract for physical construction was officially signed in Jakarta on 07 August 2026 by the executing contractor, CRBC-NINDYA Joint Operation (JO).<\/em><\/p>\n \u200bThe Head of PPN Pengambengan<\/em>, Kartono, stated that the groundbreaking for the port’s construction is scheduled for 29 September 2026. This will mark the start of physical construction work on-site,” said Kartono before the Forkopimda members.<\/em><\/p>\n \u200bAccording to Kartono, the PPN Pengambengan<\/em> was selected for its strategic location in southern Bali and its high fisheries potential. The port is being prepared to relocate fishing fleet activities from Benoa Port.<\/p>\n \u200b”The new port is designed to become a modern, efficient capture fishery hub that is directly integrated with the downstream supply chain,” he added. He added that the project’s status as a National Strategic Project (PSN)<\/em> and its reliance on foreign loan financing make on-site oversight crucial.<\/p>\n \u200bThis oversight encompasses not only technical construction aspects but also social considerations and maintaining security and stability in the area surrounding the project.<\/p>\n \u200b”We earnestly hope for support and synergy from the entire Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda)<\/em>.
