{"id":893,"date":"2026-09-08T06:34:39","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T06:34:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wlbrs-catalog.ru\/?p=893"},"modified":"2026-09-08T06:34:39","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T06:34:39","slug":"1558-flights-at-eight-airports-affected-by-anak-krakatau-eruption","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wlbrs-catalog.ru\/?p=893","title":{"rendered":"1,558 Flights at Eight Airports Affected by Anak Krakatau Eruption"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1558-flights-at-eight-airports-affected-by-anak-krakatau-eruption-f9e596b.jpg\" alt=\"1,558 Flights at Eight Airports Affected by Anak Krakatau Eruption\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u200bThe State News Agency ANTARA<\/em> reports that the <em>Minister of Transportation,<\/em> Dudy Purwagandhi, confirmed that 1,558 flights were affected by the closure of eight airports due to volcanic ash from <em>Mount Anak Krakatau,<\/em> a necessary measure to ensure flight safety.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bDudy said the impact on flight schedules concerned both departing and arriving flights after the government decided to extend the temporary closure of the eight airports.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200b&#8221;As of now, across the eight affected airports, there are 1,558 delayed flights and 170,000 stranded passengers,&#8221; the Minister confirmed in Jakarta on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bBased on the latest monitoring, the movement of volcanic ash from <em>Mount Anak Krakatau<\/em> has shifted eastward at 5 knots at an altitude of 15,000 feet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bThese conditions have prompted the <em>Ministry of Transportation<\/em>\u2014alongside the <em>BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency),<\/em> <em>AirNav<\/em>, airport operators, and other relevant stakeholders\u2014to monitor the spread of volcanic ash continuously.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bThe eight airports in question are <em>Soekarno-Hatta Airpor<\/em>t (Tangerang), <em>Halim Perdanakusuma Airport<\/em> (Jakarta), and <em>Radin Inten II Airport<\/em> (Lampung).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bAlso included are <em>Husein Sastranegara Airport<\/em> (Bandung), <em>Budiarto Airport<\/em> (Curug, Tangerang), <em>Pondok Cabe Airport<\/em> (South Tangerang), <em>Taufik Kiemas Airport<\/em> (West Pesisir, Lampung), and <em>Atung Bungsu Airport<\/em> (Pagar Alam, South Sumatra).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bThe Minister explained that, to date, 170,000 passengers have been affected by operational disruptions at these eight airports, including cancellations of flights originating elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bThe government has also prepared alternative airports\u2014such as <em>Kertajati, Ahmad Yani<\/em> (Semarang), <em>Juanda<\/em> (Surabaya), <em>Yogyakarta International Airport<\/em>, and Solo\u2014should airlines choose to divert their flight operations. In addition to providing alternative landing locations, <em>InJourney,<\/em> together with <em>Angkasa Pura<\/em>, will arrange free ground transportation\u2014including buses and trains\u2014for
