The event will return for its 15th edition on Sunday, 23 August 2026, with the start and finish lines at the <em>Bali United Training Center <\/em>in Gianyar, Bali.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/maybank-marathon-2026-bali-saturday-23-august-2026-723fbfd.jpg\" alt=\"Maybank Marathon 2026, Bali, Saturday, 23 August 2026\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Bali United Training Center <\/em>in Gianyar, Bali.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bPresenting this year with the theme <em>\u201cPace You Forward<\/em>,&#8221; the<em> Maybank Marathon<\/em> is the first running event in Indonesia to hold the <em>&#8220;Elite Label Road Race&#8221;<\/em> status from <em>World Athletics<\/em>. The event will once again deliver an international-standard running experience, prioritizing participant safety, operational quality, and cross-stakeholder collaboration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200b<em>The Maybank Marathon 2026<\/em> will feature 14,100 participants from 46 countries. This figure includes 36 participants in the <em>Maybank Marathon Run for Charity 2026<\/em> and 22 participants in the <em>Maybank Marathon Indonesia Fast Runner 2026<\/em>, who are eligible to enter the <em>Maybank Marathon 2026 #BaliBeatsWorld program <\/em>draw for a chance to participate in an upcoming major international marathon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bThe flag-off for the <em>Maybank Marathon 2026<\/em> will take place in stages on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from the <em>Bali United Football Club<\/em> in Gianyar, Bali.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>The Marathon category (42.195 km) <\/em>will start at 04:30 WITA.<\/li>\n<li><em>Half Marathon category (21.0975 km)<\/em> will start at 05:30 WITA.<\/li>\n<li><em>10K category <\/em>will start at 06:00 WITA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A flag-off for the wheelchair category will also take place.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/maybank-marathon-2026-bali-saturday-23-august-2026-e5c40d2.jpg\" alt=\"Maybank Marathon 2026, Bali, Saturday, 23 August 2026\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bThis year, the <em>Maybank Marathon<\/em> offers a total prize purse exceeding Rp 3 billion, including bonuses for record-breaking performances.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/maybank-marathon-2026-bali-saturday-23-august-2026-e1f504c.png\" alt=\"Maybank Marathon 2026, Bali, Saturday, 23 August 2026\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Maybank Indonesia <\/em><br \/><em>President Director Steffano Ridwan<\/em><\/strong>    <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200b<em>Maybank Indonesia President Director Steffano Ridwan<\/em> stated that the <em>Maybank Marathon<\/em> has evolved into one of Indonesia&#8217;s most prestigious running events and has also contributed to strengthening the local sports, tourism, and economic ecosystems. &#8220;The Maybank Marathon is more than just a race. For 14 years, this event has served as a platform bringing together the running community, partners, the government, and the public, united by a shared spirit of moving forward. Through the theme <em>&#8216;Pace You Forward,<\/em>&#8216; we aim to deliver a world-class running experience while generating a broader positive impact on sports, sports tourism, and the local economy,&#8221; said Steffano.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200b<em>The Maybank Marathon organizing committee<\/em> has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability &#8211; aiming to achieve a completely <em>carbon-neutral<\/em> <em>marathon<\/em> by 2030. This will be accomplished by integrating sustainability initiatives into every aspect of the event, with a focus on reducing the carbon footprint, effective waste management, and social and community engagement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bTo ensure the entire series of events runs optimally, the organizing committee has carried out intensive preparations in collaboration with local governments, security forces, and all organizing partners.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200b<em>Maybank Marathon Project Director <\/em>Bambang Irawan stated that every aspect of the event is being thoroughly prepared, including the race route, Race Pack Collection, medical services, and security arrangements.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/maybank-marathon-2026-bali-saturday-23-august-2026-3a06a3c.jpg\" alt=\"Maybank Marathon 2026, Bali, Saturday, 23 August 2026\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Maybank Marathon Project Director <\/em>Bambang Irawan<\/strong>    <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200b&#8221;Participant safety and comfort remain our top priority. Therefore, all preparations are executed in detail and through close coordination with all stakeholders. We also conduct annual evaluations to ensure the quality of the Maybank Marathon continues to improve and delivers the best possible experience for all participants,&#8221; said Bambang.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bOn race day, the organizers have arranged for personnel support at various points along the course, comprising 900 marshals ready to assist runners throughout the route. Additionally, 850 police officers have been deployed\u2014supported by 50 military personnel, 40 Transportation Agency staff, 500 <em>*Pecalang*<\/em> (<em>traditional Balinese security officers<\/em>), and 455 medical personnel\u2014along with a fleet of 68 ambulances, consisting of 22 standard ambulances, 42 ambulance motorcycles, and 4 emergency-room-standard ambulances. These numbers represent an increase over the previous year, reflecting efforts to ensure that every stage of the race proceeds safely and in an orderly manner, in compliance with <em>World Athletics standards.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bMarking its 15th edition, the <em>Maybank Marathon 2026 <\/em>brings a world-class competitive atmosphere by featuring 12 international elite runners\u2014six men and six women\u2014who have achieved top times at various global marathon events.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bFurthermore, as part of the lead-up to race day, the <em>Maybank Marathon 2026 <\/em>will kick off its events on Friday, 21 August 2026, with the <em>Race Pack Collection<\/em>, held in a festival format.
