The Provincial Government of Bali<\/em> will launch a pilot project, \u201cDial 112,\u201d<\/em> for any emergency. If the integrated emergency telephone service proves successful during the pilot launch period, it may be adopted nationwide.<\/p>\n

\u200bThe start of the Indonesia Alert 112 (\u201cIndonesia Siaga 112\u201d)<\/em> launch was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement on Thursday, 24 September 2026, at the Grand Bali Hotel<\/em> in Nusa Dua, involving the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), the Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs (Komdigi)<\/em>, and the Provincial Administration of Bali.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"“This<\/p>\n

\u200bAt the signing ceremony, the Director General of District Administrative Development (Bina Adwil)<\/em> at the Ministry of Home Affairs,<\/em> Dr. Safrizal ZA, said the new \u201c112\u201d<\/em> emergency number is now the standard for emergency response services in 127 countries worldwide. Safrizal said Bali has a special need for this new emergency response service, which will eventually benefit both residents and international visitors.<\/p>\n

\u200bAs reported by BaliPost,<\/em> the \u201c112 Emergency Response Number\u201d<\/em> will integrate Bali\u2019s entire emergency response community and can handle fire alarms, health emergencies, natural disasters, public unrest situations, and other urgencies. The \u201c112 Emergency Response\u201d<\/em> system will respond to both regular telephone calls and a specialized online cellular application.<\/p>\n

\u200bThe Secretary-General of Komdigi,<\/em> Dr. Ismail, announced that his ministry will support integrating the new emergency response system across several government agencies and related ministries. This support will include developing a technical scheme and creating supporting digital infrastructure to enable wide-ranging connectivity.<\/p>\n

\u200bMeanwhile, the Director General of Digital Infrastructure Issues at Komdigi Wayan Toni Supriyanto confirmed that the \u201c112 Emergency Response Number\u201d would be accessible on a variety of telephone systems, both cellular and fixed-line. Supriyanto also confirmed that the \u201c112 Emergency\u201d service would be provided without charge and accessible to all municipalities and regencies in Bali.<\/p>\n

\u200bBali Governor Wayan Koster said he welcomes Bali\u2019s selection as the test area for the pilot launch of the \u201c112 Emergency Response Number.\u201d Koster said the new emergency response number would prove highly relevant to Bali’s unique character as an international tourism destination that needs a fast, efficient, and integrated response to every type of emergency.<\/p>\n

Commenting further, Governor Koster said: \u201cThis is the first time in my capacity as Governor that I have received guidance in an assignment that is urgently needed for the Province. This system meets the needs of not only local citizens, but also international visitors who come to Bali as an international tourism destination that must be well-managed in dealing with emergencies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u200bAccordingly, the Governor pledged that his administration would quickly and faithfully implement and coordinate the introduction of the \u201c112 Emergency Response Number\u201d across all cities and regencies in Bali. Continuing, Governor Koster said the successful introduction of the 24-hour \u201c112 Emergency Response Number\u201d will require qualified, well-trained personnel, optimized infrastructure support, and standard operating procedures (SOP). Ultimately, the emergency response system must cover Bali\u2019s cities and regencies, down to the district (kecamatan) level.<\/p>\n

\u200bIn conclusion, Koster said: \u201cWe have the human resources. All that remains is to train these people. This may require a separate unit because it will serve as a 24-hour call center. Although Bali is comprised of 57 sub-districts (kecamatan<\/em>), maybe call center units may end up being more than 57.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u200bSafrizal said one of the main challenges awaiting the \u201c112 Emergency Response Number\u201d<\/em> is the requirement that every call be immediately forwarded to the appropriate government agency. Because of this, strengthening the system\u2019s command and dispatch centers and training operators will be a top priority in building the overall system.<\/p>\n

\u200bFor example, Safrizal said responding to a fire call requires a maximum response time of 15 minutes; building infrastructure to meet this standard will happen in stages.<\/p>\n

\"“This<\/p>\n

\u200bIn addition to preparing the governmental elements and staffing requirements, the public also plays an important role. The public will need to learn how to use and understand the \u201c112\u201d system and how to yield and give way to emergency response vehicles, allowing them open access to emergency scenes.<\/p>\n
